Jeremy Castillo at SiGMA Cape Town 2026: Conversations, Insights, and New Opportunities

Walking into SiGMA Cape Town 2026 (March 3rd–5th), you could immediately feel the buzz. This wasn’t just another industry conference; it felt like a crossroads for the future of digital marketing and iGaming.

Representing Affnook, our team members Jeremy Castillo (Sales Head – EU) and Rahul Pant (Associate Director of Sales) headed to South Africa to dive into the action. For them, it wasn’t about just sitting through presentations—it was about getting on the ground, meeting the right people, and seeing where the industry is actually heading.

Africa: The Next Big Frontier

If there was one “main character” of the event, it was the African market. The consensus was clear: Africa isn’t just a “future” opportunity anymore—it’s happening now.

Jeremy and Rahul spent a lot of time talking to brands and affiliates who are already moving into the region. While there are definitely hurdles—like navigating different payment systems and local regulations—the mood was incredibly optimistic. People aren’t just dipping their toes in; they are investing for the long haul.

Real Talk, Not Just Small Talk

One of the best things about the Cape Town summit was the atmosphere. Sometimes massive conferences can feel like a marathon of “hi-and-bye” interactions. This event felt different.

The setting allowed for actual conversations. Our team was able to sit down with peers and partners to talk through real challenges, share strategies, and move past the usual sales pitches. It’s these deeper discussions that usually lead to the best partnerships.

Smart Growth Over Fast Growth

The “tech talk” at the event shifted this year. It wasn’t just about how to get more traffic, but how to get better results.

Data is now the backbone of everything. We noticed a major shift toward:

  • Efficiency: Using smarter tracking tools to make sure every dollar counts.
  • Sustainability: Focusing on growth that lasts rather than quick wins.
  • Decision-making: Brands are becoming much more calculated and data-driven in how they pick their partners.

Building Bridges (and Trust)

At the end of the day, business is about people. SiGMA gave us the perfect space to catch up with old friends and meet new ones in a relaxed, collaborative environment.

For Affnook, these few days were about aligning goals. We’re reminded that great partnerships aren’t built on a single handshake; they’re built on trust and a shared understanding of where the market is going.

The Takeaway

Jeremy and Rahul left Cape Town with more than business cards; they returned with a new outlook on a rapidly evolving industry.

iGaming and digital marketing are experiencing incredible changes throughout the world, and Africa is at the front of this movement. What we learned from SiGMA Cape Town is that the future will be determined by those who have an innate desire to learn by listening and who are also agile in making necessary changes to adjust to a shifting landscape.

The conversations we began in Cape Town represent the initial start of what can happen when we connect in exciting new ways; we cannot wait to see how these connections develop over the next several months!
